Daisy, Charity Dillon and Richard:

Camping

It was about 8:00 pm when we arrived at our campsite near the trailhead of the South Crow Lakes. The skies were cloudy and thunder storms were predicted. We set up camp as fast as possible. We had the tent set up and the bed and sleeping bags situated. We started a fire and cooked hot dogs, but before we could finish eating the storm hit. Lightning flashed and the thunder crashed around us. We ran for the truck and leaped inside. Richard called Charity, she jumped in. We called Daisy but she hid in the bed of the truck. We tried dragging and pulling her but she would not come into the cab with us. The lightning was so close we had to get into the truck without her. Torrents of rain poured down and lightning flashed around us. Richard, Charity and I were warm, dry and safe.
Daisy was in the storm, getting drenched, cold and scared. How like us I thought. Jesus calls us in from the storm . . . He has made a place safe for us to endure the storm but we often do not cooperate. We refuse to get out of the back of the truck and leave behind the known to move into the unknown where we are safe. We prefer the familiar to rescue.

Revelation 22: 17 says:

“The Spirit and the Bride say Come!” And let him who hears say, Come! Whosoever is thirsty, let him come: and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

Have sense enough to come in out of the rain. You’ll be glad you did. Jesus is calling.
